The varieties that make up this "Pure Origin" Espresso are cultivated by small coffee growers in the highest region of Colombia.
ROSABAYA DE COLOMBIA Hand-picked and treated with the wet method to intensify its aromas, the coffee is then dried in parchment and transferred to the Paramo de Letras region, where the cold, dry climate preserves it.
The floral aromatic profile of this morning blend is brought to the fore by two different guiornio Ethiopian Arabicas: delicate floral notes unfold thanks to the washed Sidamo beans, while unwashed Mokaboji coffee reveal wilder, heavier floral notes. Washed Kenyan Arabica adds acidity and maintains the aromatics of the profile.
Dark roasted South American Arabicas with a touch of Robusta bring out the subtle cocoa and roasted cereal notes of this full-bodied decaffeinated espresso

Recht tegenover het MAS op de Sint-Aldegondiskaai opende de voormalige Roode Pelikaan gisteren zijn eerste koffieshop. “Het merk is rond 1863 geboren in Antwerpen en dus is het niet meer dan logisch dat we hier onze eerste eigen horecazaak beginnen”, zegt Lotte Elshout, shopmanager van de Coffee Experience Shop.
“Klanten kunnen bij ons terecht voor broodjes, zoetigheden, maar vooral voor onze heerlijke koffie. We serveren ook kwaliteitsvolle thee. Alle producten zijn ook om mee te nemen. In de winkel werken we enkel met kwaliteitsvolle ingrediënten en professionele barista’s.”
De koffie wordt gebrand in een van de modernste branders van Europa. In de zaak staat een brandoven die klanten kunnen bekijken. Aan de muur van de koffieshop hangen zes portretten van vrouwen. Die werden geschilderd door een New Yorkse artieste en stellen de zes beste koffiebonen voor. “De kunstenares deed dat eerder al bij Starbucks en Nespresso. Nu horen wij ook in dat rijtje”, zegt Lotte trots.
